Goats hangouts make sheep country look pedestrian. I've taken a couple of Dall sheep. Beautiful animals. Posco is on the left looking at the pic. [Linked Image]

I had a couple .458 Mags but never used them on bear. Always wanted to but never had the chance to have a bear present itself when I was lugging one.

Dang Posco how big is that first bear in your pics. His claws look like a bunch of Bowie knifes

There's not a dimes worth of difference between those three bears, they all squared in the eight foot vicinity. The difference is the pic you asked about was a coastal brown bear quite literally shot with the ocean lapping at my feet. A female. The other two were taken in the interior and are/were solid grizzlies.

The bear that is skinned didn't have a tooth in its head that wasn't decayed and all of its canines were broken off from fighting. A mature boar at seventeen and a half years old. I shot him on the last day of the hunt two hours before the plane arrived. The plane was five days late picking me up and it's the only bear I saw that trip. Shot him right on the lake not far from my tent.

What a brute of a buck you have there. That's the stuff dreams are made of.

Always dreamed of mountain Caribou and Moose. Body has gone all the heck at this point, though so reality might be setting in at 66. Son and I have been talking for years about a wild hog hunt so that may be more realistic for me. Money, as always, may be the issue.

To Gcgtrapper ,RMtrapper, NebrCatMan and others that posted congrats on some great trophy animals .And for all of us a dream hunt can be something close to home hunting the animals we enjoy going after for just a few hours of time on a weekend. In OCT 2019 a friend that I have been hunting with for 40 years took a real nice doe with an inline muzzle loader . It was a crisp fall morning with the trees in full color . The deer went about 30 yards For us it was a great hunt

Moose or brown bear in Alaska.

I plan to do South Africa for plains game in the next two years. I have the money saved, but just need to pull the trigger.

Close to home: Hopefully I am 5.5 years to retirement and I want to hunt and trap every day of the season in WV my first fall/winter in retirement.

On Dec 15 I started hunting at 9:00 A.M. and had the winter moose quartered and hanging in the yard by 11:30. My dream is to cut that time to 2 hours by shooting the next one in the yard.

Never shot a moose but I have helped to butcher a few steers over the years .I would think it would be much easier getting one close to home than in the bushes and swamps

I am old, have bad knees, and cannot climb mountains. I can sit in a deer stand at a food plot a long time if I have a good book. I get my six deer limit in N.C. each year. I’d love to shoot a very big whitetail. Two nice bucks I have taken were in northern MT and the ID panhandle. Rattled one and decoyed the other. Never got a chance at a real monster.

A wise man.
You know what they say about moose hunting; it's great until you get one.
