Any one use these? Are they as good as I am hoping they are? Any concerns about carbon monoxide?

I made one out of PVC pipe and an old "pancake" style hair dryer i stole from my sister. Works great, and has the advantage of choosing cool, warm or hot air. I think too much heat will likely break down rubber in waders, and leather.

I have a Peet propane dryer I use whenever I don't have access to electricity. The flame is tiny so I have never been concerned about carbon monoxide. A 1 lbs. bottle of propane lasts a long time. I have forgot about it multiple times on the same trip leaving it on for days at a time and it hasn't ever ran out on me. Dries out my boots in a couple hours time if the air temperature is above 40. If you have an unheated tent it still works but takes quite a bit longer.

Thanx Michigander. That's what I wanted to hear. Camp out of a Wall Tent. No generator. Only real need for electricity is for my boot dryers. Looking at picking up a couple of the propane ones and wanted to get some feed back on them first.

"same trip leaving it on for days at a time and it hasn't ever ran out on me"

Was also wondering how long the tanks last. That answers my question.

Thanx!!!!

Heat will destroy leather. I wrecked a pair of hockey skates by drying them out with hot air. If you use air to dry your stuff, keep it cool of warm. Never hot.

No Jab.
