That's prime weather to frostscrape a bunch of pelts.Very easy and fast at that temp.

That process has always intrigued me. Problem is I want nothing to do with that kind of cold.

Its fine if you dress for it.You get acclimated to it when you live in a climate like that.Life doesn't stop because it gets a bit cold.

Reading about temps like that reminds me of when I was a kid still living on the Highline of northeastern Montana !
Feeding cows or checking coyote snares is a good time or even pulling a submersible pump out of a deep water well .

I agree that life doesn't stop, but it does slow down. Machines take longer to get started and warmed up and it takes more time to accomplish things as fast and cold breaks things. We hit -60 here for a few days. Tomorrow is going to be warmer and I bet a lot of people will be out getting some more wood.

That frost scraping is Boco’s gig.......you leave ..non fleshed...tacked out beaver pelts on the board, outside when it’s 0 or colder....and scrape them clean with little effort. I think Boco has a you tube video

In January 1989 we had two weeks of super frigid temperatures in North Pole, where we lived. The ice fog from the traffic was tough, and school for the kids was optional. We burned $500 of fuel oil that month. I'm glad I got to experience it.

He's got that Boston accent too!

I've been in -50 only a few times in West Yellowstone, and once at the snow lodge at Old Faithful. I took pictures of the geyser erupting and it was incredible. Then I had to put film into my camera and my hands wouldn't work.

Was wondering why this video is going viral (as they call it) and googled it and saw this thread. For some reason it is getting looked at alot. More views in a couple of days than videos I've had for years (almost 100,000). Did it just on a moments whim. Happy New Year. Heading down town Tanana to fireworks and a dance in a bit. It's a blistering 2 above 0 here now. Stan
