She obviously raised you right for you to turn into a man that takes care of her now. Prayers sent that the doctors get her fixed up. Perhaps you can move her in with you when she is released.

Praying for you and your family, Roy. Your sister sounds a lot like one of my sisters. Good for you for sticking by her side.

Sometimes people just want to remember their loved ones to be like they used to be.
My wife and I moved in with her mom shortly after my FIL passed. We found out shortly after moving in the my MIL suffered from dementia. We knew she had it before my FIL passed, but didn't realize how bad it was. After 6 years my wife couldn't handle it well any more. She became combative, mean, and very condescending. My wife talked to her sisters. One was receptive to putting her some place. The other not so much. After about 6 months of "discussing" it my wife finally blew her lid and said; "OK if you don't want her going into the home then she's coming to live with you." It only took her sister 3 months to finally realize that her mother wasn't her mother anymore.
What I'm trying to say with this is, Don't judge your sister to harshly. My MIL hid her dementia pretty well. The one sister only saw her mom being the same old sweet lady. She didn't see the things that she did and said in private.
Your mom, you, and your sister could be in the same boat.
