Thanks Les, first one is a huge male, third male, three days, in three adjoining sections, 5 square miles, Half mile stalk, 250+ yard crawl to get a 250 yd shot, wind carried bullet about 8 inches, he was one of those cagey coyotes I've tried to get last week or so. He ran out of luck today, killed 5 coyote in 7 stalks, I think that's 22 of last 27 Dark, big female in flat set, third adult female in that flat set, a lot of females have got caught in this set. 50 yards south of the set I caught 3 coyote. She's a dark one, coal shale bedding is great in bad weather

Yes, white coveralls, hat, snowshoes, gun, truck all white, many times they lost my truck when I stop, I think white helps, but if they catch you moving the gig is up!

I saw this young male out in the middle of a section, up on its feet, I walked in from the north, wind was from sw, I saw it at about 800 yds, went towards it. On the way to a hill about halfway to the coyote I was thinking it sure would be nice if it walked towards me, I wasn't sure how close I could get, could have to crawl a ways. Nearing the top of the hill in a fence line I spotted the coyote only 200 yds away walking towards me on his own! I dropped down to crawl 20 feet to the fence. He was looking into the wind when I shot him at 160-170 yards Might be my second pup in 34 coyote

Ya it's slow working this time of year, only snow I can find is the northern 10-15 miles of Iowa, along hiway nine, go south and not much there. Actually snowshoes save a lot of work even with only a couple inches, they keep your boots from slipping and sliding when you put your weight on your foot while walking The old snow is so hard I can walk on it without snow shoes, but it is more work than wearing snowshoes, also I think a foot step is louder in snow than using the snow shoes, today my second coyote heard me at 170 yards, I couldn't see it til it stood up, I didn't realize it would be out of sight if I was that close
