It is meat fed urine. No dog food. However I did read once a trapper on here feeds dog food to fox for urine collection. The urine is meat fed, the collection trays are kept clean, and is not watered down. Most of the bigger supply houses sell good urine. I sold urine to MTP more than once. Just saying.....
Fresh urine collected during season is the best in my experience.

Buy it from someone who collected it himself That is not always the rule, I bought really good urine from Hawbaker when he was still in business and he did not collect it. Still is good advice. Better if the collector is also a trapper. Ok, so far I have gotten three names of people that sell quality urine, it that the only ones? Although I have not used either, usually Bob Jameson and Wayne Derrick names come up in these threads and there are a couple of producers in Indiana, or used to be; you saw above that Coyote Clayton has sold it to MTP, some collectors only sell wholesale to dealers or lure makers, There are only a few states that allow trappers to pen animals for collection, so there is a limit to the number of seasonal sources. If you don't collect it yourself or get it from the guy that does, sooner or later you will probably buy some that is off on some respect. when that happens just chuck it and buy no more from that source. Pretty easy to squirt two drops on a bush or fire plug and watch Pup's reaction. Above it was stated that good urine is worth $50/gal in 5 gal lots- that is wholesale @$6.25/pt, by the time it is bottled in pint or half pint bottles it should be ? ~$8-10/pt, maybe? For sure if it's $3/pt it wasn't $50/gal stuff.
