That otter is a pig! Wow. Gotta be 35 pounds?

My most memorable catch would be my first live otter, toe caught in a Belisle 330 and it was interesting getting a shot at dispatching him, as he was caught at a restaurant attached to a marina and had gotten himself underneath the restaurant with 12 feet of water beneath him.

A muskrat! When I was in the 7th grade I knew where there was a muskrat in a pond 250 yds from the house. My 7th grade teacher told me I needed a #110 conibear and that Montgomery Ward catalogue had them . I bought two with my blackberry picking money, for $1.19 each. I couldn't compress the spring so my dad set it and I carried it carefully the 250 yds and set it in the hole and caught him the first night. Two nights later the water froze over and I had to cut the ice and I couldn't see the trap, stuck my hand in to feel for it and got my hand caught. I was able to unwire it with my left hand and get on the bank and squeezed the spring enough to pull my frozen fingers out. Amazing how strong one can be when he has to. Its just like it was yesterday.

It will be hard to forget this little knot head because he managed to get caught in brand new trap (zero bait or even residential odor) after I had ran out of daylight tuning it up.
These stupid things really are suicidal LOL.
