Two days ago was one heck of an adventure! My brother came back from the slope and stopped by for a visit. My Hare snare line is only about a mile and a half from my house, we walked down to check it. We found a couple rabbits on the north end of the line and as we got to the south end we had several that had been snacked on. There were some very large dog prints. There are at least 10 in this pack. We could hear them howling in the area. I take my AR with me pretty much everywhere as Lynx season just opened. So we headed out to the muskeg and got to calling. We hit the call for one cycle of rabbit distress, waited for 3 minutes and this wolf came trotting in. Our hunt lasted less than a half hour. I didn't realize how big he was until he was on the ground. He is a young one but he is pretty big! He measured 62in from base of tail to nose after fleshing but before boarding. Going to get a rug done and the skull beetled out. This is my first one and I am really pumped! Enjoy the photos!
