Caught 3 coyotes on a farm this year and one weighed 50 #. The last set had it by the pad only so I didn’t get a picture of it in catch circle.[Linked Image]

I'm just happy to be here! Today I'm as young as I'll ever be and and older than I've ever been before!

Had a 3 cat day, on public land running 18cages, this was back when cats were bringing big $$$. Also had my wife with me that day, who happened to be pregnant at the time with twins.

That's a tough question; probably a couple of them, all first of the species catch when I was a kid.

Spotted skunk, got sprayed really good. 1968, I was in 5th grade
Mink 1969
Beaver 1971
Marten 1974

I can remember everyone of those like it was yesterday.

Lots of memorable catches but my first wolf comes to mind. Caught it in an mb 750 on a drag. I still remember the feeling of following the drag marks.

I worked on a single red fox for 2 weeks in bad snow so i was trying to learn to snare as i went. I caught that fox on the last day of trapping season in a snare. First Snare first fox. I learned more from the mistakes i made for two weeks than i ever have trapping before. Very Humbling experience. That is when i got hooked on the mental side of trapping.

My daughter's first coyote she did everything from digging the trap bed to bedding the trap. I only helped with setting the trap shes not strong enough for the 4 coils yet. [Linked Image]

She also can't drive earth anchors in very easily so was on a drag.

I had been trapping for about 15 years running about 7 properties and catching say 30-50 coons, a handful of reds, some mink and rats in about 3 weeks of trapping. My first year of setting out a longer line with about 70 sets I caught 26 coons the first day! For me that was unbelievable and the most I have ever caught in a day since was 19.
