Was getting ready to throw in the towel (financial and time constraints kept me from going out this year), but my eldest turned ten today, and he's asked before to go, so I grabbed an old Northwoods no. 1 coil from my pile of fixer uppers and gave it to him, with the promise we'd fix it and others together.

His mom told me later that he said it was his favorite part of his birthday.

Maybe there's hope for me yet.
