Rush started as a band in 1968 in Canada.

I enjoyed their appearances on Trailer Park Boys.

Lol, me too. It's that time when our rock n roll wonders are passing. That dude was awesome, RIP!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

So sad to see. Have loved their music for a long time. Glad that I got to see them several times.
I'm also glad that Neil got to make that last tour. I'm thinking that he already knew it was coming.

Very sad, he was a great drummer. Love Rush and I’m 16.

I saw Rush three times back in the day. Awesome live performance.
Neil Pert was the best drummer ever, but I would say Danny Carey( drummer of Tool) is on the same level.

RIP. Another one of the greats gone. 2112 and working man are probably my favorites.

Both excellent drummers but no one holds a candle to John Bonham in my opinion.

I have a huge range as far as what music I will listen to and enjoy.
Rush is not on that long list.
When it comes up on the radio, a button on the radio is immediately mashed.
Not passing judgement on others, just sharing my opinion.
Having said that, the brief moments where I was not in control of the buttons, i would concur that the man was a consummate drummer. All that this band really lacked to be worthy of my expansive list was a capable lead singer, guitarist, bass player, and lyricist. Other than that, the drummer rocked.

Imissed , A great jazz drummer , The" greatest" is a matter of personal preference .
You guys mentioning Danny Carey , he has eight arms , not a fair comparison . lol

I've never heard this mentioned anywhere, but has anyone else noticed how good the drummer is on ojd Jimmy Hendrix tracks?
