Ok so I know it’s in a live trap but that’s all I can do at the moment! Haven’t quite figured out how I’m gonna approach people about trapping their property.
Either way this is my FIRST! I’m really excited about her. I know she doesn’t have the guard hairs that make them white n all but I thought she was beautiful!(I plan on tanning my own hides) Yes I processed her, sadly being my first grinner I over fleshed her(I’ve only dealt with deer, and that was still a first this year.) but all a learning lesson for me. Hope everyone is having a great season. Can wait for the “real” trapping next year!!!! laugh

Congrats!! Seems to have nice length laying out on your railing. I rarely see that much black and white contrast with grinners around here, either they are "ordinary color" or much more black and gray. Catch a few hundred more of those things!!

Congratulations, no better feeling than your first catch.

Nice catch … I know some want the real white Grinners, but I personally think the ones like you caught are prettier and would make great trim … Keep at it you will get better. We all had to start someplace some time.

If your grinner made you grin , thats all that matters .
Plenty more out there to catch .
You might even catch a coon or a skunk in the process.

Good job! Grinner's are where many people get their start in this sport.

Can't wait to see where you go from here... cool

Keep your boots dry and your powder too.

I remember when a fur check was reality.....now I'm just trapping for the love of it.

Best Regards,

JT

Ain't nothin' wrong with a cage trap. They can be just as much fun and maybe even more challenging than other styles of traps. And there are some advantages to them.

I'll be interested to hear how your tanning turns out.

Thanks! Yeah I can’t say I’ve ever seen one quite that color which is probably why I like her so much! Lol
