The Cider / Wine press I'm working on. I have the grinder taken apart. it is all cast iron. I'm going to paint the outside and was just going to coat the inside with mineral oil. However, I was thinking that (while the wife is at work) I could put the pieces in the oven and season them with Canola oil (inside faces only) Trouble is that most of it is made from 1/8th inch thick cast iron. I'm a little afraid of stuff cracking? Any input?

You'll be fine at the temperatures used to season cast iron. Plus you are heating it up and cooling it down evenly and slowly. That will actually benefit the material as it relieves stress in the metal. I do that when I have to weld cast parts.
Let's go Brandon
