This what I want to make next Month for Sanding and putting the new Lathe on. Might add a beam underneath between the legs for additional support . Other Workbench has a 3 inch thick x 8 inch wide White Ash beam for additional strength..

That’s one fine bench! But, it wouldn’t last 10 minutes. I would have stuff piled up so high, that you would never see the bench again!

Hickory should be a good bench materiel. I have been cutting some on my mill. Old logs that were down from weather. Some of the boards are even wormy, like chestnut. Use good tools on that seasoned hickory, it's harder than woodpecker lips.

6 Coats of Tung Oil , topped off with 2 coats of high gloss Urethane should make the grain really pop out !! smile

Nice looking bench- I'd throw a couple bench dogs in yours to stretch those coon legs for the Money Cut
