Good morning.
We should sticky this thread so I have somewhere to go on nights like this.
Seems like they are getting more frequent. Maybe it s because I'm retired now and don't have to get my sleep to stay awake all day at work.

I'm on my third cup of coffee and looking over the cable restraint training site. I'm going to get my cert and learn to use restraints and snares here in PA.

Good morning brothers and sisters.

I'm calling it a blessing that I sleep fairly well, in bed before 10:00 and up around 4:30.

Keep your boots dry and your powder too.

I remember when a fur check was reality.....now I'm just trapping for the love of it.

Best Regards,

JT

Taking the training has shown me that too. They have us clamped down on what we can do.
Still I'd like to try setting some for beaver and I know some pretty good spots for canine sets.
It will keep me busy for awhile, plus I've started on a dozen weasel boxes as I've never trapped them before either.

Indeed, and as arthritis sets in more and more, my back and pelvis right now but my hands are pretty stiff too, it's becoming difficult to stay asleep.

I definitely count my blessings as such.

That CBD oil seems to take the razor edge off for me. Physical therapist recommended I try it because I refuse to take opiates.

I hope you folks find some relief. Swing shift and the broken sleep almost killed me.

I own one 330 Conibear at this point so I'll definitely have to gear up, at least add some to the arsenal. Snares seemed a good option to me.

In any case I get giddy when I find sign, no matter what it is, and especially when I hear my chains rattling out on the line. Makes me feel like I'm 12 again (not the body of course)

I used to get up at 4:30 to be at work at 6 and that hasn't worn off yet. I still wake up around that time. But this is different. Being old I get up to pee several times a night and have a hard time getting back to sleep. This is one of them nights. Also I haven't done physical work for several years so this body isn't as tired as it once was. Being old and worn out is a different tired.
On a side note ---Hows trapping? I think the distemper got to the coon around here. One spot where I always caught 4 or 5 has only produced 1 this year. BUT the possums sure are around. I usually catch 5 or 6 every year but this year I bet I've 15. Everything from big mom and dad to one about the size of your hand.
Enough rambling. better get back to bed.
have a good day
