I set this trail right before we were suppose to get some snow four days ago. I've taken 16 off this bait pile and they stopped crossing tight spots so I switched it up to open trails by little grass clumps. I'll have to wait a few days and set the new trail they make through there. I saw four yotes run off a hill top about 400yds away when I drove in there.

I try to use that to my advantage. Wait to set until snow is coming then my tracks get covered up so they don't get spooked off the trail. They seem to know where the trail was most of the time.

Nice! How are you anchoring and what snares set up are you using? Looks pretty undisturbed

I'm using homemade 7' 1/16" 1x19 snares with magnum Senneker springs, triggers and Bridger cam locks. I run a 6' 3/32" extension cable anchored with a wolf fang disposable anchor. The snow drifted over the catch sites but they don't make much of a mess with the magnum springs.

No, they go fast without deer stops, lots of wy coyotes looked like they ran to end of snare, then laid down and died, and I only had 6-7' snares

Are your snares fairly open or set in brushed in areas?

The trail was 2' wide in spots so I set the two spots that the trail narrowed down to 6-8" next to a clover plant so I could try to hide the support and spring in it. The loop was basically in the open. I set the trails in the heavy cover behind the yotes but they haven't been through there yet.

The dead cow pile was about 200 yards down hill from this trail. I think they were looking at the pile for competition and didn't notice the snares like they would on a regular travel path.

And if I need a narrowed down spot on trail I'll install a weed or two where needed.
I sometimes fence off an open spot or trail to get them to use trail where my snare is
