Camels are very expensive animals in the US. Camels taste good too. I ate camel on New Year's Day. It would seem there should be money to be made by trapping camels for either working animals or meat, hair and leather.

I guess maybe somebody don't believe in Natural Resource Management. I don't call letting something go to the brink and then wipe them out and let their rotting carcasses lay a very good plan. But then I guess if one managed the resource and would use it for food or clothing, then that would be inhumane. They must have some genesis people like our tree huggers who won't even allow roads to be built for fire fighter access and then rather than cull old growth and build things, just let all go up in smoke, I guess that's good for the environment?
