Seeing as how all I do anymore is think about trapping related topics here's a question for you guys and gals. Will States like Colorado, Arizona, Washington etc ever allow things like foot hold traps, body gripping traps etc now that they have banned them. seems like we hear a lot about trapping getting restricted and States but we don't ever hear about trapper's gaining rights in states that they don't have them.

Once you lose 'em it is really hard to get them back.

Don't know if we're an "anti" state, but certainly a liberal one (Democratic controlled), but our Natural Resources, Republican politicians, hard working Trappers Assoc. members, and just every day farmers, hunters, etc. have certainly gotten our trapping laws changed for the better in the last 5-10 years. Hats off to those people for taking the time to get involved. One example is our red fox used to be totally protected... politically controlled by our legislature instead of DNR... you could not even pick up a road kill or possess one. We were/are overrun with red fox. Today we have a 3 1/2 month season (way to long for any fur value), but it shows the changes that have occurred that just plain "make sense". We even have some livable snaring (relaxing lock) regulations in place today in DE, unheard of just a few years ago.

There is no end game for the anti’s. They’ll never say “we did it!” “Our work is done”. After banning trapping, what’s next? Hunting. After hunting, fishing. After fishing, horse races and on and on. When the non hunting/trapping community has abide by government regulations regarding their own pets will they understand. I get it, there’s already regs, like federal law that just passed. But it will come to the government telling you how much space a pet needs, food, excercise, all of it. Along with regulations imposed upon us by these idiots. Common sense is the best tool to combat this, it’s sadly lacking. Sad puppies in cages get a lot of money given to them. It’s best to fight every step of the way. This current culture of pure emotion won’t last forever. And fight we must till that occurs.

It will take a tragedy to turn the tide as we see pets being snatched or people/kids being attacked today, sad to say people will need to die for people to wake up even though pets being killed would get more attention in today’s world.
There will always be trappers just how we get paid will be different in some States, you can trap for the fur or be paid well doing ADC work If that’s the only way. Look at Cali outlaw trapping then asking for millions to control nutria a short time later.
Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

Don't have to ban it. Killing demand for fur products is doing it just fine.
