I grew up in NY state where registration was a thing since the 80s at least. It wasn't a big deal there. Just buy your guns from private sellers. And for sure don't register anything you have. If you have guns now, take them to a family members house, and then report them all stolen. No guns to register. Registration laws suck, but are super simple to get around. All that said... I'd still be at that Rally on Monday.... with my gun. This statement is not true. In NY until passage of the SAFE Act (2013) the only firearms that required registration were handguns. The Safe Act only requires so called assault rifles to be registered, and the vast majority of NY gun owners have not complied.

They want ARs registered so they can collect them later.

I hope it’s not northern VA counties. I make better money there when working. Crossing the state line hikes up my labor charges. Aside from that, I hope they get things straightened out. I feel for them. Real mess down there right now.
I keep desperately hoping that one day someone will call me "Sir" without adding "please calm down" or "you're causing a scene."

as of 1/1/20 in NM it is "illegal" to sell a gun to someone else without performing a background check through an FFL. Most of the counties are 2nd Sanctuary counties and will not abide by the new law. This week Albuquerque Police did a gun purchase sting to make sure people were going to perform a background check. They called the ads in the paper and online and gave numerous warnings to people.
Back to topic, I just on facebook that "cages" (construction area fencing) are being placed around the area for the rally. Not sure if it is true or not. Virginia's gov must be getting scared. Maybe he will resign on Monday What if you give them the gun and they make a donation to your kid’s college fund?

When they make you register guns, if you are caught with one that is not registered it is confiscated and you are arrested. So all your un registered guns have to be hid and not used. If you think not registering is a salutation, you are part of the problem. You may as well fight before they take half of the guns as after. Ask Europe how it works.

Maybe you are thinking of the 4473 form that everyone has to fill out. It's a federal form - not state. Messed up the quote feature-this was in reply to Yotetrapper30.
