I've always just stomped a tile spade down along the cable. Hooked it with my pick axe and jacked them out the slot That looks like good a way as any though.. May have to try that.

lay your tile spade flat to the ground make 2 wraps of the trap chain around the handle close to the shovel part hold the trap In one hand and reef up on the spade. To re adjust just chock up on the chain to shorten It up and reef up again. If you can't pull It cut ad go.

Last time it snowed here I was at the gas station filling up my truck. I looked in the bed and noticed all the snow in the bed of the truck was covered in coyote blood. Then there was a pick mattock and shovel laying on top of all the bloody snow. Made me wonder what kind of ideas somebody might get if they were to look in the bed of my pickup.
What from Christ that soul can sever, Bound by everlasting bands? None shall take thee From the Strength of Israel's hands.

I made a bar out of a heavy duty piece of 1" tubing. 2/3rds of the way down the bar, I had a small, but heavy hook. I hooked the loop area of the cable and was able to pull the anchor out without much effort. I used Pogo anchors.
The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

I made one myself like that you also put another 1" tubing short to make a T .I use it to pull my 1/2" stakes out. I use a chain on the puller wrap it around the top of the stake.
