Caught a small 25 lbs. female coyote today, good fur but guard hairs were starting to break down. Would this be a first year coyote that was born this past spring ? Around here most average around 35 lbs. with 40-45 lbs on some of the big males. Just curious about how big a spring born pup would be come Nov, Dec, Jan. here in the midwest -Thanks

Not sure Kyron.I am not used to those weights.25lber would not be a pup here and I have never caught one 3t lbs.,let alone 40-45 lbs.Hopefully someone more familiar will give some input.

Teeth tell a story. If the teeth are worn it may just be small. Seems small for the area. I caught a pup a few weeks back about same site. I have coon that boarded longer than him. Normally around 35 to 45 pounds here.

Wish I had more time to trap....

The female I caught last week was small like that, I figured it was born last spring.
