Looking thru my females it looks like the two on the right would be dark brown, the three in the middle would be brown/lt brown, the next three would be pale and the last one pale. What say you??

Looks that way to me! Thanks for posting. Never seen that many fisher pelts to compare them.

We catch fisher here like you guys catch coon! I had a very short year this year and only got 22 but catches in the 60's and 70's can be made if you hustle. We only have a 22 day season here and all we can use is cage traps so putting out a decent line can take some time!

Nice catch of fisher. We are allowed 10 a year now here in Maine after we jump thru all the hoops and fisher exclusion cages we have to use.

I know it's sad Bruce, I know that Lynx exclusion box has been a big pain in the arse to you guys. I've got a ton of family and friends up there from Waterford to Indian Island up to Rangley and have been told that the fisher are doing ok up there but your marten population is way off?

Beautiful furs, Boco. The fishers look almost blue-the fur, not the leather.

Wow, the People's Republic of Mass actually allowed you to catch that many fishers...?? No quotas? You have to use live traps correct, pretty much no other trap that would take a fisher is legal?

P.S. I have high regards for you guys that live in the lower New England states and still do trapping under their restrictive rules. My mom was born in Milford, Mass back in 1925 and who knows, I might still be there if my dad and her hadn't return to his home state of South Dakota for his career and be closer to is large rural extended family. Maybe I'd be catching fishers too grin

NonPC I trap right thru Milford and Bellingham and yes it is a challenge to trap here in a multitude of ways but as you know when it is in your DNA you will find a way and we are blessed in this lunatic state to have furbearer up the arse!! It is finding locations and trying to go unobserved which is the true challenge to trapping here! Believe it or not some hugely respectable catches on several species can be made here if you have the patience. But as I said before these whack believe it is their right to smash the (This word is unacceptable on Trapperman) out of any trap they find and will do so in a heartbeat.!

EB they are very pretty skins! A few years ago I did try to run in the darkness but the Police attention to me made it simply not worth it. You just have to learn how to stealthy move about and if there is activity at a location pass it by till the next check.

We get the brown and the pales also.I would normally sell the pales but this one had damage from a snare so I got it tanned, same with the brown one.

Thanks, You and Boco have some very nicely put up fur. I might start brushing mine out before I take any pictures & maybe even tack out the tails.

I sort of grade my fur and try to send the better ones to the auction. The ones off colour or with some damage I send to the tannery for making stuff or selling to people who make stuff.
Most all damages, even ones that look bad are fairly easy to repair after tanning, with a lot of useful sq inches of fur good to use after repair.
