shocked Good Grief!!! I read the title and lapsed straight into a homely vision of my neighbour, forking out silage to his cowz, in their winter shed. Wasn't ready for That! Wow!

I would cover my backpack in elk blood walk in circles up there and given time I bet you get to shoot a bear just will not get to keep it. Lol

With as cold as it's been lately, it should have been in torpor, except for an unusual circumstance.

The ones here are mostly seen in spring, sometimes mid summer and especially fall , even coming in to the dinner bell when they hear gunshots of hunters.

Makes a guard standing by very necessary in those areas.

Is there any grizzly hunting in Montana nowadays...?

No sadly we don't have a hunting season on grizzly bears yet we should but the AR groups got a injunction to shut it down.
There isn't a shortage of grizzlies here and they aren't staying up in the mountains like you may want to think.

Wanna Be I drove down into my old stomping grounds and seen quite a few turkey's along the road and feeding in some fields, they're numbers have been increasing on a regular basis for quite some time.

One thing about it running into a bear that size would make you rethink the choice of bringing along a varmint caliber rifle in the feed truck ha ha

I guess the bear goes with the territory. That is beautiful country. I once attended a rodeo in Choteau.

Are all your cows OK? Finding a spot in those bale piles probably makes a really neat den for the winter.

I do not live Choteau montana this a picture some one else took .
It is to show that there are problems associated raising livestock things that go bump in the day in this case lol.
We do have big enough population(,,, and like the wolves ,,, )sooner or later there will be someone wanting put them somewhere close to you,,, given it time.
Colorado at this time is deciding if wolves should be introduced to Colorado. (Example)
I would be careful what you wish for .
Imo some things are just better left alone.

Choteau Mt. is where the "last of the great brown bear men" are buried side by side.

Hunt with your Kids, not for them.
