I ended up not trapping at all last year. Procrastinated, planning to trap in January and February but then got a job offer I couldn't pass up in late December and went to work full time and never found time to trap. But this year I've been saving up my vacation time, and as of yesterday I am on a 9 day vacation. So yesterday afternoon Drifter and I set out a dozen Belisle 220s on good otter trails over the levees of lakes. Not a big line, but it scratches the itch, and we're limited now as our 4x4 truck is down and all we have to work out of is a 2wd SUV. Anyways below is the results of the first check. Not pictured is a small coon.

Are you going to make stew with the beaver?

Naw. I like beaver meat, but these beavers were caught in conis on land, and it was in the mid-60s overnight. I'll pass, lol. I did cut the meat off to put in a jar with some dobbins bait solution though.
