Couldn't be further from the truth for me.

If I'm doing something wrong, I'll buy that, but tell me why it ONLY happens with the TS85, I can set the 750's in the exact same ways and they hold the beavers every time, not true for the TS85. I had lots of tripped and empty traps. Some never moved out of their beds some part way down the drowner rod, some clear at the bottom of the drowner. I had 4-5lbs pan tension on them all.

this song and dance will go on forever.

Great trap for back foot, if your setting castor mounds shallow which is what a MB is made for you won't like the 85's.

Ironically the same guy designed both traps. I set mine elbow deep and never had a problem.

So the 85 and the MB 750 were designed by MTP.

I realize this is an old thread, but I have had great luck with my 750s. I’m fully set out right now and I had to buy more. My local shop was sold out and only had TS. I bought 2 to give them a shot. The first thing that stood out when reading this thread is the chain anchor point on the trap. Seems to me that the 85 COULD have way less swivel to it because it’s end chained instead of center like the 750. It even crossed my mind (too late) to set them with the chain facing out (away from shore) to accommodate a 180 degree retreat down the rod by the beaver. I hope I have some good reports to bring starting tomorrow morning, but if I don’t, I’ll adjust them and see if it matters.

Some days I think I could trap anything anytime. Others I wonder if I’ll ever make another catch...
