If something happened at this event, given the way things went down in Charlotsville, the law suit against the city by anyone hurt today would be a huge liability.

Apparently things went well. No one was hurt, no shots fired, nobody ran over their fellow American.

Whatever was done in preparation for the demonstration seemed to be well thought out.....Not that that will keep some from doing all they can to find fault with it.

I love how they throw around the title of White Nationalist yet never show or explain what it really is. Just a catch all to make patriotic Americans sound like they are a problem somehow.

When you talk about well thought out preparation are you talking about the state of emergency called upon because it was a gun rally?

Much better to be over prepared, if there can be such a thing, than surprised if thing get out of hand. And, given the number of guns present, things could go very, very bad very,very quickly.

So all the other protests that are liberal based and DO turn violent don’t warrant a state of emergency??? Even when they are planned in advance wit past history of violence???

So you think it was okay to not allow non criminal American gun owners to carry their lawfully possessed firearms into the heart of the Second Amendment Rally, because "things could go very, very, bad, very, very quickly"?

I think the number of guns openly carried makes such rallies more of a powder keg if things go bad. And 2,199 of the demonstrators could have zero ill-intent. If the 2,200th one goes toys-in-the-attic, lots of lead could be in the air in a hurry.

We don't want to be as blind to the obvious as some on the other side may be, or as easily offended by this abundance of caution by those charged with keep the demonstrators safe.

Right be up there with gun free zone thinking maybe them little fascist did not show up for a reason.

The pro gun control group Never Again MSD called off their counter demonstration. I think it was a good call on their part.

One thing and one thing only kept that rally peaceful and that was the people that attended. All the "fluff" that racist liberal governor put on had nothing to do with it.

I have been a gun owner all my life.
This was not an NRA rally was it? It was a pro 2nd amendment rally.
I let the NRA when my membership ran out after their jack-booted-thug statement and let them know why. It was an exercise in my first amendment right.
