Calling, to old to keep up with a dog. LOL Call in front of a tree. Beforehand run a fishing line tied to a bush behind the tree. When the squirrel comes to the tree wiggle the bush a little bit , squirrel will instinctively go to the back of the tree from the shaking bush for cover. Right where you want him for a clean shot. Works like a charm.

I do use a call that sounds like cuttin nuts by feeder trees. It does work pretty good.
I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

Keith It's homemade Keith. 3/8-16 plastic all thread rod epoxied in a wood handle with a piece of pvc on the lanyard to rub on the threads. It is great all season and calms them after a shot and they're spooked.

Jeff, how fast do you rub the piece of PVC down the plastic all thread rod? Is the plastic firmly attached to the wood handle?
Keith Yes, it's firm in the wood held with epoxy. I have a rhythm and it's interesting you ask that lol. I do 5 really quick back and forth's on the threads then pause for 3 seconds, then repeat 4 times to simulate the squirrel turning the nut. I really don't know any science behind my rhythm, just my own emulation. I'll go grab my hunting coat and post a pic.
