Just got 5 cat carcasses from a buddy, TX cats a guy gave to him and a few fox. I have 15 more cat carcasses in my freezer so I plan to grind them up for cat bait. I have 3 5 gallon buckets I never use (because it’s in 5 gallon pails) so I’m thinking about hooking up bread bags to the grinder and filling up bread bags so it can be used easier during the season.

The plan would be to fill and double bag a few pounds of meat in each bag to be carried in then unwrapped for cubbies my main set for cats. Currently I’m using beaver, jackrabbit and chickens I get from my coop and some from my neighbor.

I do this with carp when I run cages stuffing freezers with bread bags full of carp, during slow times pull out a bag or two during primetime pull three bags and fill a 5 gallon bucket the night before.

Just think a nice chunk of bait that’s easy to handle that the rodents can work on and not haul away might work better for me.

Was born in a Big City Will die in the Country OK with that!

I use bobcat meat for bait as well. Some is left out to taint. Some is fresh. I put it in gallon bags and make sure the wife knows what it is, lol. Especially the tainted. It seems every critter out there will eat a cat, including other cats.

I melted down a gallon the last yr and added a few appetizers to it. Smells like what I had from the state.

I'm not sure what the reason for it but in my testing cat meat doesn't test very well for me. And I've done a fair amount of testing with it. Now with that said I could catch some critters with it and I can add the right ingredients and make it pretty good but plain cat meat compared to other plain meats it doesn't test very good.

I used it too around me with not much luck. But muskrat or beaver type bait works better. I dont know why.

cat meat mixed in Dobbins bait solution is a very good yote bait for me. The only other meat that comes close was beaver.

now here we go....now its not really a bait but a lure. I like it best that way with others for the "bait".
