Kansas does have some coyotes, but they also have some coyote trappers/hunters. When I was with Robert we stopped to talk with a bunch of land owners as this was Robert's first time trapping the area and he needed permissions. One owner had two "callers" working his land and a second had "two guys" from OH working his land. Some local club held a coyote hunt last week and they killed some. Point being it's hard to find anywhere that is overrun with game & not being worked. A week or so ago Robert caught one the had a foot missing (fresh) so someone is doing something. Bottom line, Robert is earning his coyotes the old fashion way, driving lots of miles and making lots of sets.

Robert just hit 801.

He had 4 coyotes off one location had to walk a 1/4 mile to get to them. And haul 2 back at a time.

Steve, there are spots, like around St Marys, lots of houses and "city" coyotes, can't trap because dogs everywhere! Not just there, but the yotes thrive in those places. You really stick your neck out to try to trap those typs of places! I stay to the big pasture country, well away from people, as I like to use dispatch snares and bigger traps, just don't want the dog problems.

The coyotes were so covered In mud they weighed about 20lbs more then normal. One was actually dead from exposer.

The count Is 801.

Caught 12 coyotes today and one coon. And when I just talked to him he was washing muddy coyotes. He said It's hard to tell at this time if all of them are skin able.

cat colector -- that one looks much better than the ones i usually get -- i usually have to look really close to tell if they are a coon or a coyote ( usually the coon are cleaner)

Update- 14 today.

Robert didn't have time to talk since he was on his way to meet up with a land owner. So I don't know if they were all skinners.

It's warmed up and the wind Is blowing but It's still pretty wet.
