I am going to grind some fish. I have a bunch of crawdads shells some was dead too. Would it help the fish by adding them? I thought it might add a little smell.

They will make your ground fish more runny in texture so if you're prepared for that they are a fine ingredient to add.

Corn meal works to thicken, too.

corn starch, flour, generic cereal, lecithin are some consumer available materials.
