I ran a little line to fill my last two otter tags. There were plenty of below zero temps and a few good snow fronts to get the Mustelids moving. I filled the final two tags in 330 bottom edge sets; one on a deep H-stand and the other on a KB stabilizer. Along the way I played around with single-spring Belisle 160's on HAGZ clips for rats and mink. I also put some 160's and a 220 on a KB. I caught a little of everything and had fun.

I tried to take set pics as well, although sub-zero water trapping makes it a challenge. Bottom edge setting is very rewarding to me. Thanks for looking.

You have the same beveled corner bridge culverts we now have in most of my area. Are you placing your otter BE sets at the outer/bottom edge, on the bevel angle or on the sq BE of the the wing wall?

These were all just in a little area of watershed. I’m in Crow Fork country.

I have not been very successful on the beveled or round culvert walls for any fur

I want to be under the road where things are narrower and square. That’s tough to do unless the floor of the angled approach apron is short enough to stake on the creek bottom with long cable. I passed up a lot of awesome square concrete because there was no way to anchor an otter there with frozen ground above. This all made sense in my head but I maybe didn’t write it sensibly!

This was the first I did BE 330’s on concrete but I’ve done a lot on creek banks. I think getting under the road might be higher percentage than bank features.

I'd like to hear more about those BE on the otter. I've always struggled setting that type of set just cause it seems so weird to get an animal to travel through a small square when they have the whole creek/ditch to swim around it. Can u share where your setting on those concrete culverts/wings.

You were having problems, anchoring in a concrete culvert. Could you take a cordless drill and a tapcon and piece of all around metal . Make a loop. Mount where you want it in concrete wall, could remain there for future use. As long as you wouldn't run into trouble with county.. I never tried that set but might work . Good luck. old243
