So the idea is the popple stock as bait? I assume this is the same as us Canadians call “popular”.... kinda a garbage wood but beavers seam to love it.....
I am quite intrigued by this design.....
Do you find this works best in the off season for ADC work? Probably same tree...similar to aspen. It works well off the shore away from any floating debree so its its own island Good for deep water den holes. Castor can be used up front. Sides need to float 4 or more inches off the water.

Just curious so what stops the beaver from simply going over the back? I push them into reeds/brush at times

I like the idea of a floating castor set.... that's when I put a blob of mud on the board and add BTO or a castor base lure. you can also cable them to a large branch overhead so the current keeps the opening downstream, when ya aint pushed it into cover,

If you have current attach your tie off to the inside leg about a quarter of the way back and it will act like a plainer board and move out from shore.

I'm going to use mine this spring on a 10 to 12 foot wide drainage that beavah use to travel to and from. The banks are steep and they don't live there but from swampy area to river area.
Mine look like 330's but a bit more crude then his.

The floats work well on private ponds with an Island lodge Cable the front with a double snap extension Can be anchored or in deep water run out on the end of a long slim pole. Just so it floats free.
