Me and wife cleaned up some junk on the farm we bought and are putting up wood for next year. Split some cedar for shingles. Nothing better then driving past a good looking wood pile

Nice!

I wonder if tap dancers walk into a room, look at the floor, and think, I'd tap that. I wonder about things.....

That is a nice wood pile but here it would definitely be Chipmunk Estates, which is not necessarily a bad thing since the advent of the high power air rifle. whistle

Keep your boots dry and your powder too.

I remember when a fur check was reality.....now I'm just trapping for the love of it.

Best Regards,

That looks great. I don't know if I would burn any of that beautiful creation. I would leave as is.

Yip, holz hausen works great. A ten foot dia stack, five feet high comprises about 3 1/2 cords. Very efficient! BTW, the larger the diameter, the easier it is to stack.

When I build mine the only thing I do differently is stack the "roof" portion with the bark out to shed a bit of water. Then, again, it ain't nearly so pretty.

Ya that’s what I started doing on the inside with white oak bark out in a couple layers before I got the cedar idea. Figured it would work somewhat like cedar shingles out the outside layer and then I could split the cedar into small pieces for tinder next year. Yet to be determined. First go around this way

That's a pile to be proud of, no doubt.
