Don't know yet. Trapping along two major dam systems one at the north and one at the south ends of the break/swamp. Duck hunters in the original break/swamp. Waiting for duck season to end to tighten the noose.

Number 40 today from this same swamp. Has bested my previous record of beaver caught in a swamp by 12. What's some of y'all's biggest catches from a area?

From one house 10 beaver which included 6 adult blanket sized beaver.

Back in 1990/91, I had set up a canal that wasn't far from the Neuse River. There were 6 beaver lodges in a 1/4 mile stretch of canal. I kept three sets working the whole season and caught 56 beavers off that canal. Naturally, some were traveling up from that river.

83 off one drainage before I could kick a hole in a dam and it wasn't repaired the next day. That's not including nutria, didn't keep count of them. Be back working that same drainage next month and be lucky I catch 20 now. Probably north of 400 off it in the last 10 years though, lol. It also drains off into a major river so is always getting restocked from year to year.

About 6 years ago trapped 2 ponds connected by a creek (on the same creek). Between fall trapping and spring trapping I got 27 beaver out of the area. The next year was a noticeable drop as I only managed 17 beaver from same area.

Always trapped in hill country. Numbers like that would equal lots of miles. Most in a year with a partner was 70 through the ice. Most alone was in the mid 50's. More work than I want today. Most dunkins through the ice in a year was 2. The 70 was when I lived in the late great state of New York.
