So y’all may remember my thread about the Chevy rear sliding windows leaking on the 19-20 body styles. My truck has been at the dealership for 58 days now waiting on parts that GM says are backordered. Does anyone on here have any experience with Lemon Law claims. I know that each state has its own set of rules but I’m tired of having paid for a luxury crew cab truck and driving this loaner Malibu and I really need my truck back. Just looking for some real world experiences. I’m sending the letter to GM this morning.

Not to sure about Lemon laws??? Do know that when I wrote a letter to Chrysler corporate about problems with dealership work.. They got their undies in a bundle and got some things done lot quicker. Even called me in for a meeting where had dealer ship lawyers and owners there. Think they was meaning to punk me with that. Next was a one on one meeting with dealer ships owner.. More or less cried to me how my letter put them in such a bad spot with corporate why didn't I come to him before send letter. Well had already been round and round with every one there trying to talk to him. But anyway if you can get a letter to right person you may get quick results..

I used the Lemon Law way back in 1990, had a brand new dodge W250 4wd pickup that went back to the dealer 27 times for water leaks , every time it rained there would be an inch of water on the floor of the cab . truck went back to the dealer for window seals and window caulking and other sealing jobs to try to stop it but they could never get it to stop leaking, the service manager at the dealer told me about the Lemon Law so I applyed for it and ended up with a brand new 92 Dodge Cummins W250 4wd . Had that truck till three years ago ,best truck i ever owned. Lemon law works!

In the paperwork that came with the truck, there should be something on the lemon law. I believe any truck that has been in the shop that long applies. Sounds like you are getting the run around. I would be interested to know how you come out.

A friend of mine had a similar experience to MGGC. It was about 5 years ago. He is an insurance agent so he knew enough to document EVERYTHING. He said it was a type of arbitration hearing. Once they saw all of his documentation (names, dates, paperwork etc.) he got a new truck that was better than the one he had so many problems with. It was a lengthy process. He did not use a lawyer but thought that most people should. Chevy.

Don't know about NC, Ohio has a Consumer Affairs Department within the State Attorney Generals office, that is very effective. They are not afraid to take on the big companies. I had problems with an International Financial company a few years ago. When I made contact with AGCA dept. I ask if they could help me and they told they would try. I ask them what they could do if the company refused … they told me that was an easy one... they could stop them from doing business in the State of Ohio.

I filed the complaint and it was resolved in a couple of months. Check and see if NC has the same type of operation. It will be listed online in their website.

Got a letter typed up and fixing to head down to the post office for next day delivery with signature receipt. I’ve waited too long and there seems to be no end in sight. GM is putting production of new trucks over all else. There’s a wind noise that no one wants to deal with too. I’ve brought that up several times to the dealership and the customer service people and nobody wants to talk about that. I’ll keep y’all updated. I’ve read where people got a phone call within a few hours of the receipt of the notification letter.

Have they tried the national parts locator system to find the parts needed?

We used it in south Dakota in 1995 on a 1995 jeep grand Cherokee. Neighbor friend was a lawyer and helped usout with a letter to the dealership. We tried talking to the same dealership but got no where. In the end we turned the jeep in , and drove off with a new s-10 blazer with the same payment. So all else fails get a lawyer.

Let me sugar coat this
