That is a odd color, I like it.

Back in the 1950's there were a lot of Fox squirrels like that in my area/ In this area the older they were the lighter they got... a little like my hair. There are still a few fox squirrels in my area, but the grays have taken over most of the area. The fox squirrel like big old trees, where the grays like the scrub trees and more hilly area.

have killed several black fox squirrels here, they are pretty common, actually saw one yesterday, have saw 3 black greys this year, just thought this one was odd. gonna sell it to a taxi looking for something different for a competition.

It is a fox squirrel for sure-not a hybrid.Ihave seen several that have been mounted, not while hunting.I find them more attractive than blacks and whites, though they are nice too.The other thing it has going for it,is that it is a Winter prime pelt. They make the best mounts.I have no idea of value but I like it.

I have fox squirrels in my yard along with grays. The fox squirrels are a little larger than the grays.

The difference between animals and humans is that animals would never let the dumbest ones lead the pack.

You Ohio guys have a different fox squirrel than we do here in central Pa.
Our fox squirrels are the color of the tails of those in the OP's pic and the above pic.
I stand corrected on my opinion.
Cool squirrels nonetheless
