A pandemic scare can and is starting to having huge effects on the world economy...... ABSOLUTELY! Look at equity and commodity markets this week, they're all dropping significantly. Why would fur markets NOT be affected by the same fear, at least for some time?

I read that link that Marty posted. That is scary......if it is true! The problem is, it came from the internet....the information hyway that is false about half the time! The other side of the coin, how can you trust what the Chinese gov put out, they are liars from the get go. Guess we wait and see what the truth is! Wow I hope it's not true or we really may be in trouble.

What worries me a little is the CDC & media usually overplay these things and it's kind of they're saying no big deal here don't worry. Lee didn't forget about your fur pickup route. Cant let a virus stop that

So, this is very close to home...…. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment is investigating a Douglas County resident for possible exposure to the novel coronavirus. The unidentified patient returned to the United States within the last two weeks after traveling from Wuhan City, China, where the virus broke out in December, state health officials said. The patient is at LMH Health (formerly Lawrence Memorial Hospital), hospital spokeswoman Amy Nothrop confirmed Tuesday. I agree it is good to be cautious. I also think media hype thrives on events like this.

If the symptoms do not show up for a few weeks how can they screen for this with any certainty?
(fox)
Nearly 240 Americans were evacuated from the Chinese city of Wuhan early Wednesday morning, and are now on their way back to the United States where they'll be screened by health officials for any signs of the coronavirus. A State Department official confirmed the plane's travel plans with The Associated Press and said the aircraft had been chartered by the American government to fly out diplomats from the U.S. Consulate in Wuhan, where the coronavirus outbreak started. Other U.S. citizens will also be on board. The passengers will reportedly be screened for the virus when the plane makes a refueling stop in Anchorage, Alaska, and those who are medically cleared will be allowed to continue on to the continental U.S. The plane's ultimate destination is Ontario, California, according to the U.S. Embassy in China. Hospitals will be on alert and are prepared to treat, or quarantine, any potential patients.
