How do you suppose fur buyers get their fir tanned? Just curious. Some are so big maybe they do it themselves. I wonder if they sew it & make garments too. It'd be interesting to know how FHA fur ends up getting processed too

The fur buyers get their pelts dressed at the dressers in their own countries.
Most all of the fur dressing now is done in eastern europe and china, vietnam etc.
International in winnipeg is the premier dresser of beaver pelts, quality wise.

I wonder if the coronavirus will change China's practices and views and volume of handling fir. Hmm....

Most of the “fur” buyers at the international auctions never dress any fur. They are brokers (middlemen). Once the sale is over, they collect their commission check and never see the pelts again.

The furrier they bought for will pay for the goods and then dress them. Most like in Eastern Europe, China or Vietnam. Then the garments are made. Then offered for sale around the world.

Lots of steps in the process. Not as simple as you think.
