Is anybody watching it this year? I guess I have to admit to still being hooked even though I don't think they will ever find any buried treasure. Too many impossibilities such as, where did they have the capability to bury something 170 feet? Why would they bury treasure that deep? Why booby trap it with flood tunnels? Weren't they planning to recover the treasure themselves? Too much that doesn't make sense.
I do enjoy seeing the artifacts they find. But, I would bet you could hit islands all over the seas and find artifacts dating way back in time from ancient sailors landing there.

How long would it take to dig 170 feet by and along with all the rest of the shafts. How did they keep the water out.

After several years... I cant take it anymore!!!
Whats this???? An Island? With treasures from the 1600s?
Oh my.... No more I haven't watched in awhile. I agree, I can't stand that narrator, he drives me crazy. They should give him the axe and get Mike Rowe. .
I BELIEVE IN MY GOD, MY COUNTRY AND IN MYSELF.

A couple artifacts is about it. Starting to wonder if some of those aren't "seeded".

I like the show too but do not like the drama. I'm interested in the whole thing but doubt there is a treasure anymore. That said I hope they find something.
Just passin through

The whole thing sound terribly improbable to me. It would have taken lot of man power to do that back then. And the last thing you want is a lot of people knowing were the treasure is... the money pit is the people that watch it and what the show brings in. I believe the stuff is planted that they find.

You are correct, IMO. Who would bury treasure so deep and booby trap it with flood tunnels so even they can't get to it? Too many things on the show doesn't make sense. There probably were all sorts of people as far back as the 1400s who visited the island. Maybe even the Knights Templar. They may have buried treasure there. It's pretty doubtful that they would have buried it 170 feet deep, especially if they planned to one day come back and retrieve it.
If it was recovered I believe that black man who owned several parcels probably found it in the 1800s. On one show a couple of seasons ago they even hinted that he had come into some money suddenly.

Picture yourself burying something 170 feet deep with shovels and buckets. How far away do take the first shovel full and start your pile? And then re-bury it after that. And don't forget, they had to build those booby trap flood tunnels. Possum Man: I agree, it's still better than a lot of other crappy realty shows on TV. Maybe that's why I still watch it.
