I'm first generation American. My father legally immigrated to this country with his parents from Germany in 1924. He was 4 years old at that time. My Dad and his parents always considered themselves Americans. They learned the language and fully assimilated.
This Is My Country
This is my country! Land of my birth! Thisis my country! Grandest on earth! I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold, For this is my country to have and to hold.
What diff'rence if I hail from North or South Or from the East or West? My heart is filled with love for all of these. I only know I swell with pride and deep within my breast I thrill to see Old Glory paint the breeze.
With hand upon heart I thank the Lord For this my native land, For all I love is here within her gates. My sould is rooted deeply in the soil on which I stand, For these are mine own United States.
This is my country! Land of my choice! This is my country! Hear my proud voice! I pledge thee my allegiance, America, the bold, For this is my country! To have and to hold.

They can twist anything into a problem today stick with reality and you should be fine, somewhere a guy thinks he's a girl and his friends think it's true.

Yup Racist: Does not mention proper compensation for the Indians, for loss of there lands. Are you telling me that the people that we call in Indians were the first people to inherent that we now call the U.S.A. There were no boundary's. The Indians were killing each other for years before we go here. JMO.

I am a native American. I was born here too. I am not offended

The Indians were killing each other for years before we go here. JMO. Not trying to start a whizzing match, I just don't fully understand why the "They were killing themselves before we started killing them" comment keeps resurfacing anytime Indian topics arise? Nobody on this post brought up killing. Humans have been killing humans since the dawn of time, on every continent. So.... They most certainly were the first humans to occupy the continent-and no that doesn't mean they need to be mentioned in a patriotic song. We took over land that was occupied by indigenous cultures. That's history so that's how it is and it is in the past. I disagree with trying to justify it with the "killing themselves" argument. I don't have an opinion about the song, but you phrased some rhetorical questions (meaning questions intended to prompt discussion) that I gave my opinion on. Actually I will say the song is not racist. The "my native land" wording is definitely going to throw some people. I am grateful to live in this country but those lyrics don't really vibe with me. Everybody doesn't have to like everything.

Hey buster,my comment was not negative. You sound like a friggen racist against Canadians, assuming just cause someone is from Canada that a comment is negative.
