This is new to me. I had heard of the cherry blossom but never really looked into it. Very interesting. A great reason for dropping the bomb. If they were willing to do this, think of what an invasion of Japan would have cost in lives. On both sides.

They were called bakka bombs, they were releasedfrom larger bombers at a range of about 6 miles. It only took them a few seconds to travel to target. Read the book " Sentinals of Fire" by P.T. Deutermann to get an idea of what the Kamikaze attacks on American ships was like during the war in the Pacific.
