Ok. I'm a simple country boy. I thought the problem was teen age vaping. I'm a tobacco user not a smoker but at 60 they will take a while to get to me. Back on topic. So we have an underage problem so the government in it's infinite wisdom just raised the age to purchase and use tobacco products to 21. Exactly how does this affect the underage usage problem? All the brain surgeon do gooders have accomplished is tripling the number of underage users. How about let's increase enforcement of existing laws on retailers that sell to minors and actually hold them accountable. I guess that may have a positive effect on the problem why in the world would the government want to do that. Not a rant just trying to understand the logic.

How about enforcement on the person that is under age. Just like drinking under the age of 21 years old. JMO

Not promoting the use of tobacco, but, if you are old enough to die for your country you are old enough to use tobacco and drink beer.

I suppose their thought is that it will make it harder for them to get. Now they will just have their beer guy get them their smokes when he gets them their beer.

A lot of the problem was adults between 18 and 21 were buying for the kids. And the fact that kids can order online now and have vaping stuff shipped to them. The vaping stuff needs to go period, it is all really bad.

Ya vaping is cutting off tobacco tax revenue, the state better do something about that, cant risk losing revenue by having less people smoking and more people vaping...

how about we quit worrying about stupid stuff like trying to get a minimum wage earning convenience store clerk to stop your kid from using tobacco or using ethanol.

age limits are just dumb

quit trying to force your responsibility onto someone else

When I was 13 I’d drive out of my way to a store who would sell it to me.

Tobacco puts a strain on the healthcare system. I say if you pay your own healthcare bills and follow the law you should do whatever you want, drink, smoke, drugs, etc. America is not free anymore, everything is outlawed seems like.

Heard on NPR today that tobacco usage is at 14% and dropping. Not too many years ago it stood at 43%.

That's good. Good riddance to it. BUT, some of you are sounding just like the libs that want to ban everything! Banning anything is BS, all it does is make a product go underground. Everytime something gets banned, freedoms of choice are lost. Like Danny said, people should be able to make their own choices. We of all people should get that!

I remember several years back the "Truth" campaign aired one of their PSA's which featured an airplane towing a sign explaining the evils of tobacco... Over a beach full of people (many of them severely obese) who were laying out in the sun.

Remember how government works... Once they stamp out tobacco use they'll move on to something else they deem unhealthy. And it might be something you enjoy or partake in.

Don’t you know anything ? That law works exactly like their gun laws work to curb gun violence ! Oh wait, my bad, scratch that thought, lol.

When I was in the military on post, I was 21 and often bought beer for the soldiers that weren't 21. I wouldn't have done this off post.

I feel the same way you do, if you are old enough to die for your country, you are old enough to use tobacco and beer.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.
