In an ADN article, John Schandlemeier of Delta says there is hardly any trappers out. Could one take that to mean there might really be some places to trap along the Rich?
Looking forward to hearing from some of my old friends!!!

Thought John lived in Paxton? I remember stopping in to visit him one time but that was way back in the early 90s. I remember thinking the Paxton area looked like good marten country.

do unto others as you would have them do unto you

As I recall, he has his place at Paxson, but also a place on the Denali Hwy on the E side of the McLaren River.

John used to trap the area around paxson but he hasn't for decades. He does like to try and run anyone out that tries to trap his old abandoned lines though.

I love to trap!

His main place now is just outside Delta. Still has the other two places as well.

My trapline is in the Paxson area and use some of John's old trails for the last five years, he's never tried to run me out. There is also several other trappers along the Richardson, at least in the Copper Basin.
