I have a H&R side kick 32 S&W with no rear sight . I have had it for about twenty years and shot it once. My question is is the rear sight missing or they don’t have one originally. Second question is if no rear sight is required how do you aim ? Are they worth anything in good condition?

Doesn't it have a little groove in the top right in front of the hammer?

My GUESS is that there is a shallow groove along the top of the frame and that is the "rear fixed sight". If it were missing the rear adjustable sight there would be screw holes. Handguns like that were designed for self defense and short range shooting, not really "aiming".
As far as value, they are a $100-150 handgun.

I have nothing clever to put here.

Yes it has groove . I don’t shoot pistols except for my Ruger single six . I only have the H&R because a guy owed me money and He offered it for payment. He owed me $50. Thanks for the replies

for 50 ye didn't do too bad

yes no rear sight on most revolvers just a notch in the frame , this is even true of most modern personal defense revolvers.

the up side is 32 S&W long is a half way decent cartridge and reasonably available at a decent price https://www.midwayusa.com/product/1657171226?pid=735129

target adjustable sights are kind of fragile for the life a small or service handgun lives. a slot in the frame isn't bumped off or damaged easily. but especially on 4 inch barrel revolvers once you know where to hold a slot in the frame and front sight you can shoot reasonably decent my son and I go out with our 38s both 4 inch barrels and it becomes a who can hit 100 yard steep plates challenge.

For the $50 he owed me I actually got the H&R S&W 32 and a small 22 single shot pistol that looks like a revolver but it only holds one round. To load it you twist the barrel and it opens. It has a Indian head on each of the pistol grips.

I would say you did well

SAVAGE M101 .22 PISTOL
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/853511675

https://www.gunsamerica.com/976901967/SAVAGE-M101-22-PISTOL.htm

probably turn that one into 200-250 if it is in decent shape

Yes, the single shot is a Savage model 101. I own several just because they are "cute". They aren't big money but you easily got 4 times what he owed you in trade. Good job!

I have a S&W 38 spl. it has a grove for a rear sight. It only has a 1-7/8 inch barrel. My shooting eye is going bad on me. So this is a ideal revolver for me.
