Any of you guys encore fans? Just got my new barrel in the mail. Had MGM make me a 20” 358 Winchester with Williams fiber optic sights and a leupold vxr scope. I already have a 18” 44 mag barrel that I love! Can’t wait to launch some of these chunky bullets down range. [Linked Image]

I have one in a 308. Shoots well. Great gun but the trigger is heavy around 5 lbs. Anyone have any experience working on the triggers in these?

I've done quite a few Encore triggers. I'm a huge fan I have 10 of them. Go to Bellm T/C he is all things Encore. Has a good book of instructions and everything you need to take care of the trigger.

Like your set up I am a huge fan of thumb hole stocks. I have them in 50 ML, 45 ML, 20 gauge rifled, 35 whelen, 300 win mag, 357 max, 308, 243 and a wildcated 35x375 ultra. I also have a stainless receiver in standby for whatever I come up with next. I have worked all the triggers and all are crisp around 2 pounds. Also upgraded all of them to swing hammers. I use the EGW rails for bases and have various scopes from Night Force to Nikon.

I have been a TC fan for along time starting with the contender. I have an early Encore before the Pro Hunter. I have 50 cal ML barrel, 45/70 Katadin barrel, and a 7mm Rem mag barrel at the moment. I have always wanted to get an MGM barrel but haven't done it yet.

i highly suggest them. My 44 mag barrel will stack them at 100 yards with the one and only load i put together for it. I dont expect any less from this one.

Them encores are garbage, the trigger sucks prolly 10lbs , the ram rod sucks with the t, the pin that holds the barrel on is really hard to install, the hook on the trigger guard pokes you in the back when it's on the sling over your shoulder. I had an extractor pin break after 2 shots. T/c did provide a new one within a week. If you can get by all of the stuff I listed they do hold a fairly accurate barrel for 50 cal 1 1/2" group at 100yrds. Oh then you need a bunch of different do dad's to clean them. I still got an encore but been looking for a replacement for it.

I had one in .243 but it got stolen. It was a tack driver and it had a very nice trigger. Crisp and and about 3 1/2 pounds.
I still have the 50 cal muzzle loader barrel if anyone wants to PM me.

I have a ProHunter in 7mm mag. The most accurate gun I have ever shot. When sighting in at 100 yards, put 3 shots be in the same hole.

Severely overpriced for the quality out of the box considering I had to add about $150 to fix the 12 lb trigger on mine. Have owned the cheap H&R rifles that were much better.

I think the encore really shines for the guy who doesnt want just a standard rifle. I like the fact that I can contact MGM and have a barrel made in any contour, length and chambering i could possibly imagine. Junk? far from it. Can it use some tinkering to make better? sure, isnt that half the fun?
