Came back a little while ago from selling my last 2 coyotes and the 10 coon that I forgot I had in a different freezer when I sold everything else last time they were in town. Coon prices are way down due to the coronavirus they can't export anything into China. Hunter said they have a lot of coon in storage.
I did average $35 for the two coyotes. Coon were $1-$5 each. If you have freezer space to hold for another 10 months you might want to do that. He said all of the coon and rats go to China. Other fur has different outlets.

Too bad about the virus in China as that is the last thing the fur market needed! Thanks for the update!

You can't ship coon from the USA to China because of some virus??? Coon hides aren't effected by any virus that I know of.

I'm betting all those $1.00 and $3.00 coon have already found a home.

I'm sure we are going to hear the same thing after the FHA sale.

Thanks dirt this Isn't my first groney rodeo. LOL

Boco It's going to be the lack of buyers bidding against each other for that fur that may effect the price.

I learned all I need to know about groney in Dec. Took him 10 coyotes. Wanted to give me 50 each for 5 and 8 each for five. Dont think I will show him anymore.

The buyers may be able to ship but until the in-home quarantines are lifted, nobody will be processing the fur

I got $25 for two bad ones that I thought maybe I shouldn't of skinned after I put them up. One was really thin in the shoulders and one had a lice spot about 3" diameter in the middle of shoulders. But it wasnt groney either.

Orders must be full or near full and or not interested in storing more coons for another season or two.
I shipped all my fur this year to FHA, maybe they will decide to hold over rats etc. if there is no market. I don't know how much fur they need to move to get commissions to cover expenses and keep the doors open.

If he wanted to pay 30 why not just say so?

I thought I did that exactly that on two different prior threads ?

Did you read them ?

If you see a laugh after my post, that generally denotes a touch of sarcasm,

as there is not a dedicated sarcasm emoticon available on this forum.

I wasn't bragging on those threads, but simply reporting the information.

You get hammered by the t-man peanut gallery no matter how one presents

fur sales information so there's that also.

It's danged if you do, and danged if you don't. laugh

Carry on.

My 1st time selling will be tomorrow....In prior years I didn't trap enough to catch many critters so I've tanned my bobcats, turned by foxes loose and gave my few coons to the neighbor kid to add to his few to sell.

I sure hope I don't get shafted but looks like the odds are in favor of it. It's always something..........
