Is there such a thing a good battery powered framing nailer or should I go the old route with air? I have several projects coming up but at the moment don't want to spend a fortune. Your opinions on what type is best is appreciated. Thanks, Sarge

Paslode framing nailers are very nice but the gas cartridges are pricey. I have used a Harbor Freight pneumatic nailer for the last few years for a couple of building projects and it has done the job with both 8d and 16d nails. I am not a professional builder but for a few projects the price will be right IMO!

Milwaukee just released their new 18v framing nailer and the reviews are really good. I will be getting one soon. I have used the Dewalts and they work good. I would stay away from any that use gas!
don't worry over the smart ones. catch the dumb ones, they pay the same.
i can do it because i dont know that i cant.

I can't stand my Paslode Framers or Finishers. They are so fussy about being clean and having fresh gas that I consider them highly undependable. I don't even know why I keep them. I never use them. Hitachi air Framer and learn good hose management.
Nowadays it just don't pay to be a good 'ol boy.

Milwaukee M18 trim nailer is very good. I use a Milwaukee air nailer for framing.

stanley bostich have been good for me cheaper to run than the gas nailers, can't say about the newer battery ones. just don't step on a air hose when two storys off the ground

For the big stuff I use a Paslode. Love that thing. all the smaller stuff is done with air nailers and staplers. I use hardwood and have found that the passcode has the most power so I don't have nails sticking out that need hammering in. And I don't like to trip over hoses. The 40 foot cord I have on my saw is annoying enough.

just my opinion , if your driving enough nails to make a framing nailer worth while , go air.
if your not putting in enough to warrant an air hose , pull out your hammer or use the impact driver and some screws.
