So as some of you may know I'm heading up to the Glennallen area this spring to work for the season until end of September or maybe November. Regardless of when the work stops I'm planning on staying until November to chase ptarmigan with my dogs and maybe even set a few traps with a nonresident license, assuming I can find some land that isn't being trapped and isn't Native Corp land. Don't plan on setting up a line but if I could scout a spot or two to trap in the late fall/early winter that would be fun. Plan is to come back to Idaho the first winter due to a pretty great woman I'm dating here, who works in the SE United States the same time I'd be in Alaska and then returns to North Idaho for the winter. Hopefully not work most of the winter in Idaho and just trap and bird hunt. So long story short, it's been a lifelong dream of mine to at least see your beautiful state, so I'm taking the opportunity to come work up there this year with the intention of moving there permanently, if I think it suits me. So I'm leaving most of my trapping gear in Idaho as I'll be here the majority of the season but I was going to bring a dozen or so traps with me in case I end up staying into November or December. Here I use #2 and #3 mostly for coyotes and the few cats I trap but I'm thinking for lynx and coyotes up there #3 and #4 would be best? What are you guys who target fox using for footholds? #1.75 and #2 too small for the snow you get for fox? Sorry for the long-winded post. Thanks in advance for any help. I have no issue learning a new area myself through scouting and lots of boot leather, but curious about hardware. PMs fine too.

Thanks guys, that's what I was looking for I figured bigger traps. I've got a dozen Victor #4 DLS both offset and reg jaw so I'll probably bring some of those as well as Bridger #3s and modified Sleepy Creek 4 1/2s

Yeah that's a valid point about the snares as well as smaller traps, I'll probably ship a medium box full of traps up there before I move. Eventually, I will get all my stuff moved up there, but for now I'll start slow. Appreciate the input guys.
