Im not from there , but when in Newport i like to hit Georgie's or the chowder bowl at Nye beach

Both have awesome chowder

I love crab but prepared crab at the coast is exspensive , go figure

You can go down on the docks and find some fresh crab or tuna to fix for yourself or take home with you

Which part of the coast are you referring to? Astoria to comifornia is a fair distance.

Okay here you go Kyllos in Lincoln city located on the worlds smallest river. Order calamari appetizer , the Hali-Mac 33 bucks. ( Hali, covered in crab with a special sauce and macadam nuts. Split it. The salads are awesome also. The best. For lunch go to Jays it like going to the soup nazi but for fish and chips strict rules. Lol.

Overall for great seafood you need to go to Mexico or Louisiana or somewhere. Oregon doesn't have any imagination when it comes to preparing seafood unless you like breaded cod and such.

A shame really since the resources are here.

Rivers are running too high for most bay crabbing right now. Possible exception would be Charleston as the Coos river doesn't tend to flood as much.

There also are Mo's in Newport and Florence. Known for clam chowder but the rest is pretty blasé imho.

There’s a couple little crab shacks out there...gotta look for em though. As I recall, heading south just after crossing the Newport bridge there is a little market that sells crab and other seafood ready to eat. Pretty easy to spot the crab cookers under the tent.

Also look up Kelley’s Brighton marina...all they serve is crab. And pacific seafood in tillamook...they used to be good, better chowder than most anyhow.

I’ll second that one! It’s directly across from Hoover’s bar and grill

There was a chowder place in Florence that had the best chowder I've ever had in my life and my gf at the time said the crab sammich was excellent. I don't recall the name of it but I think it was on the main drag in town and had chowder in the name?

In Florence all the seafood eateries are in old town on the water front. Nothing of any interest on 101 which runs thru Florence. There is Mo's which has a big following for it's chowder and another one right next to it that is pretty decent. I think it's called "International C-food". ICM

I like ICM's chowder better.

Mr. Bill’s is a pretty good seafood restaurant. It’s just south of Lincoln City.

I guess I forgot there is the Oregon oyster farms also. It’s on the bay road between Newport and Toledo if you like
Fresh oysters. Local ocean on the bay front in Newport is great also
