Snowing here on West side of state right now..Don't think it will kill us all like weather man keeps saying??? But then I'm no weather man. Still got a pallet of water and size D batteries in basement from last winter storm warning. All the dang bread got moldy so I did have to go yesterday get another load that...I got a rope tied from back door to door handle on truck. Just in case I need find the truck to drive to store for more batteries.
Stay safe out there..

Mac

ROTFLMAO, 6”-8” is a mere dusting here in northern NY. Hyping such a light snowfall by naming it as a storm, is just part of the climate change narrative. On the Tug Hill Plateau, highest snowfall east of the Mississippi, 24”-48” would qualify as a snow storm.

Imagine the hype when we do get a real storm.
I remember everyone having brightly colored styrofoam pingpong sized balls on their car antennas so one would "see" other cars at blind intersections, because the snow banks were so high. We all must have lived in dangerous times and didn't know it. School was rarely cancelled.
The 60's were a diiferent time for sure.

I had a whole shoe box full them little orange foam antenna balls.. Seemed like every gas station and store gave them away. Most had their logo or a saying on them.. Trick for us kids was to steal them off cars and keep or trade for logo's..

Ya, I really liked those things. My new truck doesn't have an antenna so I can't use one, much less a squirrel tail.
They are saying 6"- 9" here, in the old days that would be cause for the boys to get together, get a case of beer and go for a cruise.

Those were the days, eh Mac ?

BTW, I was describing 1960's La Crosse. Suppose the cars on Brice Prairie had the antenna balls too, eh Mike ?

I grew up in Medary/Onalaska so I'm pretty sure them orange balls was out on prairie too.. At least the two dad had up on each side the roof rack on old 65 station wagon. They got out there when we ice fish by old Red Sails..

Looks to be heading straight across South Dakota from west to east.
Perhaps heading northeast as it moves towards Wisconsin.

Currently, radar suggests the stormnis moving E/SE.
Wind is supossed to switch around from the north this afternoon.

Got 5 or 6 inches here over night. Haven't bothered to see how much we are supposed to get.

Haven't had much snow this year in southern Indiana this year , but you ever notice they hype up the weather and try to terrorize you about it , heck even if the temprature get's into the teen they terrorize you. I guess they think you can't think for yourself.

Or both
